2021 Platinum Reports REPORTS

R2: Camille eases through to R3

R2: [3] Camille Serme (Fra) 3-0 Mayar Hany (Egy) 11-6, 11-6, 11-1 (25m)

Comfortable win for the new record French Champion Camille Serme as she beats Mayar Hany in three …

One of those matches where you can only saluted the French Panthère’s poise and control. Mayar, much lower ranked (WR38 for WR3), never let go, kept fighting even 2/0 down and 7/0 down in the 3rd.

Camille seemed at ease on this court which happens to be her home court in Egypt – she represents the club in the Egyptian Ligue – and the crowd was happy to salute her accuracy and flair.

A pretty flawless performance from the French, 9 winners in the first game, 10 in the next two, spending minimum time on court as possible, 9m, 7m 6m in view of tomorrow third round as the French lady doesn’t have the luxury of a day off…

Camille: “It was quite demanding physically and mentally as well,”

“I tried to find my mark on the court, I wasn’t creating enough sometimes but I was fighting and trying to get every ball she would throw. That was the good point, I felt good on my legs.

“I’ve been at home, struggling a bit with a small injury, so I’m not 100% fit yet but I’m happy to be competing again and we’ll see what happens this week.

“Melissa played really well in the Nationals final, it was a really good match and I thank her because it made me ready for fighting and ready for this tournament.”
