The 2024 Mountain View Black Ball Squash Open continued today with eight more Round Two matches from the bottom half of the draws.
There were upsets in both draws, with Hana Moataz reaching her first Gold quarter-final with a hard-fought win over World Junior Champion Amina Orfi, while in the men’s draw Fares Dessouky and Mohamed ElSherbini prevailed over seeded players – and Karim Abdel Gawad came from two nil down to progress.
Today was also the first round of the African World Champs Qualifying tournament.
